INDIVIDUAL THERAPY Individual sessions are provided on a weekly or twice weekly basis depending on need or desire. These sessions will be tailored and focused to your individual needs as mutually determined in consultation with me. The work is both exploratory and goal oriented. It is designed to help you become more attuned to your emotions, begin to uncover unconscious patterns and work towards change. I use psychodynamic or insight oriented techniques to help you become more aware of unconscious patterns of emotion or behavior that may be getting in the way of your goals, your relationships or your overall well-being. I also use mindfulness and meditation based practices to help build awareness of thoughts and feelings and to develop skill in staying fully present in the moments of your life.
MINDFULNESS BASED CBT AND DBT These are both therapies that integrate mindfulness and meditation practices with techniques designed to help you make connections between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors and to learn to make more skillful choices to manage mood and behavior.
DBT GROUP SKILLS TRAINING Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15. These groups are workshops of up to 5 people designed to teach DBT skills as an essential component of the overall DBT program. DBT groups can work in conjunction with an already existing therapy that does not necessarily have to be from a DBT perspective. The only requirement for enrollment in group is that you be attending individual treatment at least once weekly and that you arrange a one time consultation to determine whether this group is right for you.
